Build a Snow Angel Preschool Game
By Charlene Haukom
No snow is needed for this Seasonal Preschool Game! Preschoolers can stay cozy indoors while building their Snow Angels. Have fun crafting the Snow Angel parts, then top it off with the Build a Snow Angel Preschool Game!
What You Will Need
Snow Angel Template
Snow Angel Cards
Construction Paper or Felt Sheets – Blue, White, Pink
Glue
Funflock, Glitter, or Cotton Balls
Cardstock
Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets (optional)
How To Play
1. Print out the Snow Angel Template and cut out the shapes. Trace the shapes onto felt sheets or construction paper, then cut them out. Use blue for the body, white for the wings, and pink for the head.
Spread a thin layer of glue or Mod Podge over the wings, then sprinkle them with Funflock, glitter, or cotton balls. Give one set of snow angel parts to each preschooler.
2. Print out the Snow Angel Cards and cut along the dotted lines. Print on cardstock for stronger cards, and laminate them for longer use. If more than a couple of preschoolers are playing, you’ll need to print additional cards.
3. Shuffle the Snow Angel Cards and place them face down in front of the preschoolers.
4. The preschoolers now take turns drawing cards from the deck and building their snow angels. If a preschooler draws a wing card, then s/he takes one wing from the snow angel parts and places it in front of him/her. If his/her next card is the body, then place the snow angel body next to the wing. Fit them together similar to a puzzle.
5. The first preschooler to build a complete snow angel wins the game!
Variations of Build a Snow Angel Preschool Game
Instead of building a snow angel, build a snowman! Cut a small, medium and large circle from white felt, construction paper, or cardstock. Use brown rectangles for the arms, black circles for eyes and nose, and a red rectangle for the mouth.
Take pictures of the snowman’s individual parts to use as Snowman Cards. The Snowman Cards/pictures would replace the Snow Angel Cards in Step 2 above. Assemble one snowman for preschoolers to use as a guide, then follow steps 3-5 above.
