Preschool Travel Solitaire

Print out the Preschool Travel Solitaire cards and take them with you on your next road trip. Whether your travels take you near or far, the preschool solitaire game will keep your preschooler entertained! This preschool travel game helps your preschooler with number recognition, counting, and matching!

What You Will Need

Preschool Travel Solitaire Cards
Decorative Craft Paper
Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheet
Plastic Storage Bag
Lap desk or Travel Tray

How to Play

1. Download and print the Solitaire cards on decorative craft paper and cut out the cards. The paper should have a fun design on one side and be blank on the other. Be sure to print on the blank side. If your paper is 12” x 12”, cut it down to 8 ½” x 11” so it’ll fit in your printer. Buy at Art.com

*Helpful hint: Many craft supply stores have sales on decorative paper and you can often buy a single sheet for a quarter or less. Preschoolers love craft stores, so make a day of it and have fun with your preschooler as you search through the paper section for your favorite design. Just look in the scrapbooking section for an aisle full of possibilities.

2. Laminate your cards so your preschooler will have an easier time handling them. Plus, they’ll last longer.

3. If you’re driving and won’t be able to shuffle between rounds, show your preschooler how to do it prior to leaving.

4. Shuffle the cards, then place 4 cards face-up on the lap desk or tray. Hand the rest of the cards to your preschooler.

5. Preschoolers flip through their cards one by one and try to match one of the face-up cards. For example, if they draw a "5", they look for a face-up card that has 5 stars. Or, if they draw a card with three stars, they look for a face-up card with a "3". Set the matches off to the side. Cards that don't match should be returned to the bottom of the deck.

6. As matches are made, preschoolers should take the next card from the deck and place it face up on the tray. There should always be 4 cards face-up until there aren’t enough cards to do so.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all matches are made.

8. Shuffle the deck and play again.

9. Store the cards in a resealable plastic storage bag for future use.
