Musical Stars Preschool Game
By Charlene Haukom
A new take on an old game, Musical Stars Preschool Game is similar to Musical Chairs and is a great game for preschool birthday parties. Instead of circling chairs during a round of music, preschoolers will pass around stars. Make this game even more fun for preschoolers by turning the lights out! Use glow in the dark stars and moon.

Gift Bags
Prize
1. Put a prize center stage. You can leave it out on display, or put it in a decorative bag so that it’ll be a surprise for the winner.
2. In each gift bag, place either a star or moon. There should only be one bag with a moon – the preschooler who ends up with the moon bag wins the prize. Use at least 3 bags for small parties and more bags for larger parties. The more bags, the more rounds, the more preschoolers have a chance to participate. You may need additional stars for larger preschool parties.
3. Place the gift bags around the prize.
4. Have the preschoolers sit in a circle around the prize and gift bags. Give one star to a preschooler, or hand out a few stars if it’s a large group.
5. Turn the lights out, draw the shades, and play a round of music. *Note: the room will have to be pretty dark for the stars to glow.
6. During the round of music, the preschoolers will pass the star or stars in a clockwise direction. When the music stops, the preschooler(s) holding the star(s) gets to choose a bag. No peeking, though!
7. Keep playing the rounds of music until all the bags have been taken. Let the preschoolers look inside their bags – the one with the moon wins the prize!
