Bubble Race Preschool Game

The Bubble Race Preschool Game is not only fun for preschoolers, it improves dexterity and patience. Some preschoolers have a hard time blowing bubbles because they hold the wand too close to their mouths or they blow too hard and the bubbles pop before they can completely form. This Outdoor Preschool Game requires preschoolers to focus on opening the bubble bottles, holding the bubble wand at an appropriate distance, and blowing hard enough to make bubbles without popping them in the process.

Difficulty Level 3 out of 5What You Will Need

4-6 Bottles of Bubble Solution with Wands
Stopwatch

How to Play

1. On a table or bench, line the bubble bottles in a single row.

2. If the bubble wands are not attached to the lid, remove them from the bottles and place them next to the bottles. Recap the bottles.

3. Send the preschoolers along the bubble line, one at a time. Each preschooler must remove the cap from a bubble container, insert the wand, and blow a complete bubble before moving on to the next bubble container. Bubbles that pop as they leave the wand do not count – only bubbles that float magically away will allow preschoolers to move on. Time how long it takes the preschoolers to make it successfully down the line.

4. The preschooler who makes it through the bubble line the fastest wins the race. Replace the caps before the next preschooler takes a turn.

Variations of the Bubble Race Preschool Game

Depending on the ages of the preschoolers, you may need to modify the rules. If the preschoolers are on the younger side and have a hard time blowing bubbles, you can either:

1. Reduce the number of bubble bottles.

2. Use the same number of bottles as above, but don’t use a timer. The preschooler with the highest number of successful blows wins.

For example, if Preschooler 1 blows 15 bubbles from one container and Preschooler 2 only blows 6 bubbles, but each bubble comes from a different bottle, then Preschooler 2 would win because s/he had the highest number of successful blows. Successful blows = a blow that produces at least one complete bubble that magically floats away.

Make the Bubble Race Preschool Game More Challenging

Set up more than one bubble line and have the preschoolers all go at the same time (or in groups of three, etc). Seeing other preschoolers make their way down the bubble lines will encourage a faster pace. The faster the pace, the more the preschoolers will need to focus on patience and dexterity. Preschoolers will learn patience because they’ll have to “slow down” enough to accomplish the tasks. If they move too quickly, they’re likely to blow too hard and pop the bubbles or have a hard time opening the bubble bottles.
