Preschoolers will have lots of fun hopping over balls in this easy preschool game. Throughout the game, the balls get closer and closer. Can your preschooler keep hopping without touching any of the balls?
Several small balls

1. Set the balls in a line with about four feet between each ball.
2. Have your preschooler hop over each ball without touching it. If your preschooler accidentally bumps it, s/he’ll have to start over.
3. After your preschooler has hopped over each ball, move the balls closer together.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3. How close can you get the balls before your preschooler touches one?
Turn this Outdoor Preschool Game into an Active Preschool Game! Set the balls farther apart and have your preschooler sprint to each ball before hopping. Adding the sprint will further increase your preschooler’s coordination.
Make this Outdoor Preschool Game More Educational
Make Ball Hop an Educational Preschool Game by introducing the alphabet. Before your preschooler can hop over the next ball, s/he has to name a letter as well as a word that starts with that letter. For example, after the first hop, your preschooler would say something like, “A is for Apple.” After the next successful hop, your preschooler would say, “B is for Bumble Bee.” Keep the alphabet going as long as your preschooler is hopping.
