1. Print out the Mother’s Day Scavenger Hunt game cards.

2. Cut along the lines so you have cards of individual letters.

3. Hide the letters throughout a room or the whole house.

4. Send your preschoolers off to find the hidden cards.

Make Mother’s Day Scavenger Hunt More Educational

Turn this Indoor Preschool Game into an Educational Preschool Game by introducing letter recognition. Instead of using the game cards, send your preschoolers into the pantry or kitchen to find items that begin with the same letter as each of the letters in “Mother.” For example, in the kitchen, preschoolers could point out the microwave for the letter “M”; the oven for “O”; a towel for “T”, etc. The pantry would hold an assortment of food boxes and cans that could be used to spell Mother.

Make Mother’s Day Scavenger Hunt More Challenging

Make this preschool game more challenging by adding a timer. How many cards or kitchen/pantry items can your preschooler find before the time is up?

Turn Mother’s Day Scavenger Hunt into a Precious Gift

Turn this preschool game into a gift for Mom. Have your preschooler come up with things that Mom does using the letters in “Mother” as a guide. This can be tough, but let your preschoolers think about it on their own for awhile before providing suggestions. Does Mom do a great job of cleaning up Messes? Does she cook yummy food in the Oven? Take the time to write “Thank you for xxx” on each of the Mother’s Day Scavenger Hunt cards, then tie a pretty bow around them before giving them to Mom.
