Catch the Easter Egg Preschool Game
By Charlene Haukom
What is a preschooler to do with all those plastic Easter eggs when the Egg Hunt is over? Play Catch the Easter Egg Preschool Game! You’ll have everything you need right at your fingertips, so why not extend the Easter fun?
What You Will Need
Easter Baskets, 1 per preschooler
Plastic Easter Egg
Felt Sheets (optional)
Glue (optional)
Self-adhesive Velcro (optional)
2. Attach the rough half of Velcro to the plastic Easter egg. You can either attach a long strip around the middle, or attach Velcro squares or dots around the entire egg. The Velcro and felt are optional but they’ll help hold the Easter egg in place when it’s caught. If you do play with the felt and Velcro, just loosen the egg after it is caught and before it is tossed again.
3. Gently place the egg in the Easter basket so that the Velcro doesn’t stick to the felt lining. The preschooler with the Easter basket and egg now uses the basket to toss the plastic Easter egg to another preschooler.
*Hint: if you have more than two preschoolers, divide them in half and line them up across from each other. Leave plenty of space between each preschooler – they’ll need their full range of motion plus the length of the Easter Basket. If you have an odd number of preschoolers, set them up in a circle or in triangles and predetermine the tossing order.
4. The second preschooler must use the Easter basket to catch the egg.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the end of play.
