Blow Dryer Zap Preschool Game

Buy at Art.comBy Charlene Haukom

This is a very simple Active Preschool Game that preschoolers seem to really enjoy. There aren’t many rules and all you need is a blow dryer and a desire to dry your hair! After you’ve played once or twice, your preschoolers will come running as soon as you turn on the blow dryer.

How to Play

Buy at Art.com1. Choose a location where you can plug the blow dryer in near a doorway. It’s helpful to choose a doorway where your preschoolers can run freely on the other side.

Hall bathrooms work great for this game – there’s usually an outlet near the door and plenty of room other the other side for preschoolers to run back and forth.

2. Position your preschoolers at one end of the hallway (or room, depending on where you are).

3. Begin to dry/style your hair as you normally would.

4. When your preschoolers hear the blow dryer turn on, they race as fast as they can past the open doorway.

5. While you dry your hair, try to “zap” your preschoolers as they run by.

For safety reasons, don’t point your blow dryer at your preschoolers for more than a second. As long as they keep running, it won’t be a problem. If they pause to do a little dance in the doorway, just be sure to move the dryer around so you don’t burn them. The goal is to just give them a short blast of air as they run by.

6. When your preschoolers reach the end of the hall or room, have them turn around and run back.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 until your hair is dry. Your preschoolers just might beg you to dry your hair a little more!
