Make Tag more fun for preschoolers by adding balloons! The preschooler who’s “it” must tag someone before a balloon hits the floor. Preschoolers can play Balloon Tag Preschool Game alone or with other children.

What You Will Need

A balloon
Space to run

How to Play

1. Blow up a balloon – but don’t use helium. This balloon needs to sink!

2. The preschooler who’s “it” (the tagger) throws the balloon into the air.

3. While the balloon is falling, the preschooler must chase and tag another preschooler before the balloon hits the ground. If the balloon touches the ground, the tagger is “it” again.

4. If the balloon is about to hit the ground, the tagger may bump it back into the air for more time.

5. When the preschooler tags someone else, the new tagger must start by throwing the balloon.

Make Balloon Tag Preschool Game Fun for One

This Active Preschool Game can be just as much fun for one preschooler. Instead of tagging a person, the preschooler will have to run and tag an object – then run back to tag the balloon before it touches the ground. Move the object farther away after each successful tag.

Make Balloon Tag More Challenging

Make this preschool game more challenging in 2 ways.

1. Add a second balloon. The tagger will have to keep two balloons in the air while trying to tag another preschooler.
2. Or, the preschoolers can make things harder for the tagger by knocking the balloon(s) to the ground.
